We Are Now Offering as Upgrade Options: i89 Glass

Introducing Loå-i89™, our latest energy-efficient, 4th-surface coated glass. It provides higher light transmittance and lower reflectance compared to Loå-i81 and is now available in annealed form, offering a more affordable option. Despite this, it achieves an impressive center-of-glass U-Factor of just 0.20 when combined with our Loå³ or Loå² glass and argon fill in a double-pane unit.

Without argon and with or without capillary tubes, the unit still delivers a U-Factor of just 0.23 – perfect for high altitudes. When Loå-i89 is used in conjunction with Loå³-366®, your windows are in compliance with ENERGY STAR guidelines across the country, including the stricter northern guidelines taking effect in 2014.

Additionally, Loå-i89 is easy to clean and provides a clear, haze-free view. This is our new Loå-i89, a glass with enhanced performance.

You don’t need triple-pane windows to meet energy-saving standards, nor do you need to redesign your windows or change your manufacturing processes. A double-pane IG unit with Loå-i89 can meet the guidelines effectively.

Loå-i89 is applied to the inner lite, or #4 surface, where it reflects escaping heat back into the room, reducing U-Factors. Paired with Loå² or Loå³ glass and an argon fill, this double-pane unit offers superior performance, achieving a center-of-glass U-Factor as low as 0.20—significantly better than the 0.37 U-Factor of standard clear triple-pane glass.

To achieve a U-Factor performance better than our Loå-i89 double-pane unit, you would need to use a triple-pane unit that includes a low-E coating in each space between the panes.

LoĒ-i89™ Glass

A 4th surface hard coat LoĒ-i89™ that offers more natural light. This #4 surface LoĒ-i89™ reflects escaping heat back into the room and improves energy efficiency. It is easy to clean and there’s no haze or tint to obstruct the view.

LoĒ-180™ Glass

When the weather turns frigid, Cardinal LoĒ-180™ glass is the perfect cold remedy. It keeps homes warmer and more comfortable by blocking heat loss to the outside and letting the sun’s heat stream in.

LoĒ-270™ Glass

Cardinal’s LoĒ-270™ offers a bit more light transmittance, while LoĒ-270™ gives a little more solar control.

LoĒ-366™ Glass

LoĒ-366™ is a clear coating that blocks even more solar gain, reflects heat, and lets the light stream in. It even outperforms the tinted glass often used in warm climates.

Quad 452+ Glass

Quad 452+ has an SHGC (solar heat gain coefficient) of 0.22, a visible transmittance of 52%, and an excellent 2.30 light-to-solar-gain ratio. It also has a low exterior reflection (10%) and is neutral in transmission, in reflection, and on angle.

Neat+™ Glass

Neat+™ uses a combination of static dissipation to reduce the amount of dust on the window’s surface, along with help from the sun to break down greenhouse gases and other pollutants to keep the window naturally cleaner.
